This Tuesday, April 21, 2015 Sotheby’s will bring to auction a 100 carat Flawless, D color, type IIA, Emerald cut, diamond. Type IIA diamonds are the rarest and most prized diamonds, due to their being made of pure carbon atoms, with no trace impurities.
The dazzling stunner is being put up for auction anonymously. Sotheby’s auction estimate is $19-25 million USD. Actual hammer price could easily exceed those estimates.
