One day, while browsing my instagram feed, I came upon a photo a really cool ring. I saw that it was for sale so I reached out to the poster to find out more about it. The lovely Rupam of @treasuregarland was so gracious in sharing photos and info about these beautiful rings, which she sells.

She explained to me that harem rings got their origins in Turkey and the surrounding areas. Also referred to as puzzle rings these multi-band rings were designed to be given to brides and the ladies of the harem. The more varied the gemstones, the more expensive the ring, and the more bands the ring has, the more important the wife who has it. Traditional gemstones are pearls, turquoise, emeralds and rubies.

The rings that are shared here are either early vintage or 19th century victorian.

When I asked Rupam, how she got into selling these rings, she told me she spent her earliest years watching her mother and sisters , deal with a family jeweler who came to her home, to discuss vintage and antique jewelry with them. Once she was old enough to start making her own money she began collecting her own pieces. That naturally led to selling them. For now you can follow @treasuregarland on instagram where she posts her pieces for sale.

She will soon have an etsy store which I will update this post with, once I have the info.
