Fall is in the air, jewelry lovers. For the summer enthusiasts it’s a time of sadness, but for all of us Fall enthusiasts there’s no better time than right now. Magazines release their bibles, thick glossy tomes for all of all of the most gorgeous fashion, and this year really has me drooling. The textures, the colors, leather, animal print, neutrals, 70’s and 90’s inspiration, well I am excited. No ensemble is complete of course without some amazing bling to pull it all together. In my estimation it is accessories-jewelry especially-that make or break an outfit. The most simple of ensembles can be elevated by a killer necklace or sparkling earrings, which brings me to cocktail rings.
For me, personally, I wear what I love whether it’s hot or not. I take into account the trends, what I like I incorporate, what I don’t or know won’t work for me, I discard. Similarly cocktail rings have never been out of style for me, because I think they are timeless, but according to last week’s “Off Duty” section of the WSJ they are having a moment once again. The difference between the current crop and older styles is in the size. The new group is smaller lending it to more wear beyond the “cocktail party”, and special occasions.
I personally love a bold ring. It can can add flair to t-shirts and jeans and bring drama to your date night looks. Its equally fun for girls night or 9-5. Find a piece that you’ll reach for over and over again. It can be your signature piece.
