Blue Topaz, Diamond, and White Gold Studs from Jane Taylor Jewelry

2015 was a great year for jewelry. Whatever your style there was something for everyone from delicate stack rings, dramatic ear cuffs, dainty ear climbers, bold statement necklaces, and midsize cocktail rings. Azure shades of blues and greens were super hot, with lots of jewelers using sapphires, chrome, paraiba, and indicolite tourmaline, emeralds, black and boulder opals, aquamarine, iolite, lapis and zircon to name a few. Phenomenal stones like moonstone, and labradorite also stayed constant in their popularity with lots of designers making use of their unique design appeal.

Pantone has declared Serenity and Rose quartz the colors of 2016, so I think we’ll be seeing lots of morganite, pale pink sapphire, rose quartz, Rose de France, Rhodocrosite and other soft pink gems, as well as sky blue topaz, aquamarine, pale blue sapphires, and chalcedony.

I think Rose gold will continue with it’s hot streak and white gold will make a comeback to complement the pale blue gems that will start popping up everywhere. Ear cuffs, and climbers will consider to be popular, and the bypass ring will be a go to for engagement rings, along with halos, who’s popularity I don’t see waning anytime soon.

I also think there will be more demand for antique and estate pieces, as so many people want a unique piece of jewelry that reflects their one of a kind style.

I’m hoping 2016 is jewelry filled, there are a few pieces on my wish list for this year.
